What's the difference between box braids and knotless braids?
Box braids are secured with a knot at the base, offering a sleek, defined look and lasting 4-8 weeks. Knotless braids use a feed-in technique with no knot, creating a more natural appearance and putting less tension on your scalp. Both are protective styles, but knotless is often preferred if you have a sensitive scalp or thinner edges. Knotless braids cost $180-200+; standard box braids start at $160.

We typically can fit walk-ins based on current availability. Peak times (Friday-Saturday) can have wait times, so early booking is recommended if you want to secure time with a specific stylist.

How should I prepare my hair before getting braids?

Before your braiding appointment, it’s best to wash and deep condition your hair. Ensure your hair is clean, detangled, and free of any heavy products. Avoid heavy oils or products the day of your appointment. If your hair tends to shed, you can lightly blow-dry it beforehand to remove loose strands. Our stylists can discuss hair prep when you call or visit.

How long do braids typically last?

Generally, braids last 4-8 weeks depending on style, hair thickness, and how well you maintain them. Cornrows tend to last longer (6-8 weeks), while knotless braids or Senegalese twists last 4-6 weeks. We recommend washing every 2-3 weeks and sleeping with a silk bonnet to extend the style.

Do braids damage your hair?
When done correctly, braids should not damage your hair. In fact, they are a protective style. However, it’s important not to wear them too tight or for too long, as this can cause tension and breakage. Should I bring my own hair, or do you provide it?

How long does it take to get braids done?
